Hi, We're Weston and Samantha, owners of Manzanita Roasting Company!

We're a coffee combo that sprung from wine backgrounds. 

Weston was a classically trained chef and WSET 3 Sommelier in Canada, Samantha, a winery marketing diva from a winery family in San Diego. 

Weston switched gears from wine and food to coffee roasting in 2015. A Sommelier turned roaster, he turned his astute palate from quaffing fine wines to sourcing and roasting the best coffee he can find. We opened the roaster January 2015, on Bernardo Winery, in Rancho Bernardo, roasting wholesale only.
Over the last few years, we've won national awards, competing nationally in cupping and roasting, scoring 90+ on our coffees, making headlines and in 2017 being named one of Thrillist USA 21 Best Roasters in the United States. 

We have two cafes in North County San Diego, opening our flagship café in Rancho Bernardo in 2017, next to the roastery, and in November 2020, our Escondido café, in the Grand building, next to the historic Ritz theater. 

We wake up every day excited to work together, share our craft with others and work with an awesome roasting and café teams.
